There’s nothing like seeing a beautiful butterfly just fluttering its wings on the air.

Decorating our kids room with the beauty of butterflies is magical and it gives a positive feeling. To help you and your kids have fun, and decorate their room at the same time, we have come with this simple paper butterfly craft.

You’ll also get a free printable template along with this tutorial, from which you can make three paper butterflies from just one single printed sheet. And you can print it out as many times you want.

If that sounds interesting, then let’s get started.

How To Make Paper Butterflies Craft: Step By Step

Materials Required

  • Color papers
  • Stapler
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Our Free printable template (download it below)

Step 1

Cut out our free printable template. Alternatively, you can also draw the shapes on a paper and cut it out.

You can directly print the template on a color paper to make it more easier. If you are printing on a white paper, then you need to trace it on a color paper and cut it after that. I have used white paper to print the free template.

Step 2

Fold two different-sized circles into half.

Step 3

Again fold them into half.

Step 4

Unfold the circle. Now the paper should be like a half circle as shown below.

Step 5

Staple two folded half circles together. Remember to staple at the upper middle portion of the circle.

Step 6

Now open up the edges of the half circle. Do it for both small and big half circles.

Step 7

Cut out the strips of paper from our free template. Fold the strip of paper into half.

Step 8

With the help of pencil or a stick, roll the edges of the paper to give a look of butterfly antenna.

Step 9

Stick the butterfly and antennae together with the help of glue.
